The Dropwise and Filmwise Condensation Apparatus is used to study the two types of condensation processes. It consists of a vertical condenser where steam or vapor is cooled, and the resulting condensate is either in the form of drops (dropwise) or a continuous film (filmwise) on the surface. The apparatus helps demonstrate the difference in heat transfer rates between the two modes, with dropwise condensation being more efficient.
